Here you can get an idea of how the rivets will ultimately look once they're in. I've put 3 in here to show you how nice and flush they'll be.

This week was also my birthday... 29 bunny years old! What a better gift than this?! This is a Sioux die grinder that my Mom and Dad, and my brother and his wife got me. I can hardly wait to use it!

These are the two rear spars which we've marked the bottom inner-most inch to be removed to allow the elevator control horns to move upon assembly.

For this task, I've chosen a hand-nibbler (a new tool we're able to use for the first time). It worked really well and with descent precision.

Then Shannon used the new die grinder to smooth the sharp edges

In hind sight, we should have drilled a hole out in the corner to make for a nice rounded inner angle, but now we'll have to file it with a round file. In all though, the hand-nibbler did a nice job on the straight edges.

We still have to go buy a round file, but I've at least cleaned it up a bit until then.

We begin riveting. Our first assembly is the bracket attached to the aft spar on the horizontal stab. Prior to assembling, we used a rattle-can of zinc-chromate on the bearing, protecting the actual bearing itself.
